With 3 international/U.S. tours and 3 albums under their belt, "Stench" is the 4th studio album from The Gate. Recorded by engineering wizard Colin Marston at his Thousand Caves Studio in Queens, NY, it features new friends Nate Wooley on trumpet and amplifier, and Tim Dahl on electric bass. The album is in many ways a continuation of the band's gloom-jazz stylings, but Wooley's impeccable sense of extemporaneous composition and Dahl's psychedelic brand of Bizarro-funk make incomparable additions to the brooding nature of the music.
The record has been pressed in limited quantity (300) onto heavy weight 180 gram vinyl, and features artwork/design by Levi Seeldraeyers. It is a split release on Heat Retention Records and Smeraldina-Rima.
